2.5.2 Furanocoumarin Glycosides
In general, the furanocoumarins are obtained by the fusion of the ‘furan ring’ to the coumarin nucleus either at C-6 and C-7 positons or at C-7 and C-8 positions. A few typical examples belonging to this class of glycosides are discussed in the sections that follows, namely: Khellolglucoside; Psoralea; and Cantharides.
